We were honoured to have the President of the German Society of Endocrinology (DGE), Jan Tuckermann, as our second guest lecturer in June. During his visit to the Department of Endocrinology in Essen, he gave a lecture on "How Glucocorticoids Regulate Immune Metabolism to Control Inflammation and Insulin Resistance". The professor, from the Institute of Comparative Molecular Endocrinology at the University of Ulm, gave details of glucocorticoid receptor signalling, its influence on immunemetabolism and the effect of anti-inflammatory metabolites.

We would like to thank Prof. Tuckermann once again for coming to Essen and giving an exciting talk on his impressive results, which provoked an interesting and fruitful discussion.
