A brain imaging approach to TH function in consequence to mutations in TH receptors and transporter proteins

PD Dr. med. Anna Cirkel (née Göbel)  &  Prof. Dr. med. Thomas F. Münte

TH action is critical for the human brain. TH action is mediated by a number of molecules, e.g. TH transporters and receptors (THT, TR). We aim to demonstrate that genetic variations in THTs and TRs contribute to the neuropsychological phenotype and, by using multimodal brain imaging and electrophysiology, will identify the underlying systems-level neural mechanisms.
