DFG prolongs funding of research group "ProtectMove" with LOCOTACT PI Frank Kaiser as deputy spokesperson

The research group "ProtectMove - Reduced penetrance of movement disorders" located at University of Lübeck is being funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) for another three years.

LOCOTACT PI Frank Kaiser is the deputy spokesperson of this FOR 2488 and delighted about the extend funding: "The results obtained from ProtectMove will not only lead to a better understanding of the pathogenic mechanisms underlying disease development and progression, but will also offer new avenues for the prevention and treatment of these disorders."

Eleven of the project leaders come from Lübeck, four from the affiliated institute of the University of Bolzano, three from Kiel, two from Luxembourg, including the bridge professor of the research group Anne Gruenewald, and one from Essen.

We wish the research group a lot of success with their projects!

LOCOTACT PI Kleinschnitz: spokesperson of FOR 2879 "ImmunoStroke"

The FOR 2879 "ImmunoStroke" research project, based at the universities of Duisburg-Essen, Munich, Hamburg and Münster, will receive a total of 4.5 million euros over the next three years to investigate the role of the immune system in the late phase after a stroke.

LOCOTACT PI Christoph Kleinschnitz is spokesperson of the FOR2879. Together with LOCOTACT PI Friederike Langhauser they investigate how the kallikrein-kinin system-mediated thrombo-inflammation impairs long-term recovery after stroke at morphological, cellular, and network levels.

We wish them a lot of success with their research in FOR2829.
